I admit it, I’m a late comer. I don’t tweet or post about the latest and greatest for a very simple reason; I never know about it!
I guess my problem can be traced back to when my dad would read the paper and watch news for three hours after he came home from work. Dude, is there really that much interest in repetitiveness? Sheesh. OK, that fire is still burning and the killer is still on the loose. Can we play some ball yet???
My lack of wanting to pay attention to the current hype can also be traced back to car shows. Ever been to a car show? I’ll save you the trouble right now if you have ever been tempted but never have gone yet.
Ooooooohh, look at this awesome prototype that you might be able to buy next year!!!!
(Years later) Huh? Oh, THAT car? Naw, we never made it.
And you know it happens almost daily. Steven Spielberg’s Super 8, Windows v.ALL, Madonna performing Super Bowl halftime.
They all sucked.
Maybe I’m missing the point. Maybe I’m not seeing the forest for the trees. Maybe I have more issues than I’m willing to admit 😉
But, I eventually show up. And you know damn well that a party isn’t great when the doors first open anyway, it’s just harder to find parking.
So, anyway, a late comer, that’s me. I wait until the dust settles and all the hype is gone and there’s enough people to COMPLAIN about the thing and no longer caught up in the GAGA about something so I can see through the smoke and mirrors.
Enter yoono.
I’m a proud manually-do-it kind of a guy, but since I’m only given 24 hours in a day and I haven’t yet moved to a different planet (at least I don’t think I have), I need to squeeze more doing out of my hours lately. So I’ve been checking out more social help apps, like social aggregators. I’ve been trying out a lot of WordPress plug-ins the last few days, but I’m a bit overwhelmed at the amount of choices there are, along with learning that they all end up being pretty blech. But I just found yoono, a web browser plug-in that I’m sure billions of people are already aware of, since it’s been downloaded over 5 million times, according to their website.
What do you think of yoono? It looks promising, but so do they all. I haven’t even downloaded it yet. I’m too busy yammering about nothing. Aww, parties, gotta love ‘em. Catch me in another room in a few hours (stick with me in this analogy, I don’t mean LITERALLY a few hours, since this party is just starting, and I just arrived, party actually started a few years ago, so…with me? OK, cool…) and I’ll tell ya more about what I think about it. (not because I think I’m OH SO interesting, but if you’ve read this far, I probably want to hear YOU yammer about nothing for awhile). 😉
I gotta refresh my drink first though…
