Your Klout score may suffer when you vacation, especially if you take several weeks off. Same goes if you just simply can’t find the time to send tweets, write on your blog, post on Facebook, or use any of the other myriad of social applications you may use.
(For more about Klout and why it does indeed matter, check out my article A Brief Overview of Klout, and Why you Need it)
No worries!
As long as you understand your Klout score, and why it matters to understand it, you can boost it back up quite easily once you’re back in the social swing!
Why this is so is because, at the time of this writing anyway, Klout is based upon a 90 day average. As you’re away from your normal social media usage, you may see a gradual decline in your score. But once you’re back, you’ll see it kick right back up!
Check out my own chart below. This is a graph starting Dec 22, covering Christmas and New Year’s. You can see that my score suffered a steady decline, other than a sharp bounce up as I was active Jan 02, but continued steadily down from there. Note the significant rebound however over the last two days:
So enjoy those vacations, sip your Mai Tai’s and play with the kids. Work can wait!
